How to Book a Padel Court When Slots Open: 4 Options Compared
Booking by hand, Playtomic alerts, member windows or a booking bot: what each option does to get you a padel court at release time, what it costs and where it stops, in one factual table.
The Thursday 7 PM court opens one or two weeks ahead, and at busy clubs it does not stay online for long. There are four ways to get it: book by hand at the moment it opens, get a platform alert, use your club's member window, or let a booking bot do it. Each one has a different cost, a different effort and different limits.
This page compares them without picking a side, using what we measure on the clubs we follow and what the platforms state publicly. Padel Snipe is one of the four options, and its limits are written out at the same level as the others.
TL;DR
- By hand: free, and works if you know the exact release time and are free at that moment, every week
- Platform alert: Playtomic lists priority alerts as a Premium feature; the alert tells you, you book yourself
- Member window: club membership often gives you several days' head start, at that club only
- Booking bot: books for you at every release, on Playtomic, Anybuddy or Playbypoint only, with no guaranteed result
The comparison table
| Option | Cost | What you have to do | Books for you | Main limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| By hand, at release time | Free | Know the exact release time and be in the app at that moment, every week | No | Your availability, and other players aiming at the same minute |
| Platform alert (Playtomic Premium) | Premium subscription, priced by Playtomic | Set the alert, then book yourself when it arrives | No | Between the alert and your booking, someone else can book |
| Club member window | Club membership, priced by the club | Join, then book inside the member window | No | One club only; slots are still contested among members |
| Booking bot (Padel Snipe) | Alerts free; automatic booking from €14 per month | Set the slot once and connect your booking account | Yes | Three platforms only; no slot is guaranteed |
The options combine: a member can hand their member window to a bot, and a player who books by hand can keep an alert for cancellations.
1. Booking by hand at release time
This is the baseline, and it works well when two things are true: you know the minute your slot opens, and you are free at that minute.
Find the exact minute. Every club sets how many days ahead it opens and at what time. On 5,834 active Playtomic clubs whose window we had measured on 24 October 2026, about one week ahead is the most common rule (34.5% of clubs), then about two weeks (21.3%). In the United States, 55% of the 139 Playtomic clubs we measured open about a week ahead. As for the time, 54 of the 74 Playtomic clubs whose pattern we have classified open each slot at its own time: the Thursday 7 PM court opens on a Thursday at 7 PM, one or two weeks earlier. At those clubs, there is no point in waking up at 8 AM; the race happens at the slot's own time. How to read your club's window from two checks is in our guide to padel booking windows.
The routine on the day.
- The day before: check the day and time your club opens, and note the exact date your slot becomes bookable.
- Five minutes before: open the app on the club and day you want, logged in, payment method already saved.
- One minute before: mute notifications that could pull you out of the app.
- At release time: refresh the calendar, pick the slot and confirm payment straight away.
Its limits. You have to be there at every release, including during meetings, travel and holidays. And on evening and weekend slots at busy clubs, other players aim at the same minute. Why players still miss their slot is covered in why you miss your Playtomic slots.
2. Platform alerts
An alert tells you a court is available. It does not book it for you.
On Playtomic. Playtomic's legal conditions, read on 26 October 2026, list "priority alerts" among the features of the Premium plan: Premium users can set up an unlimited number of alerts about available courts or last-minute cancellations, within chosen locations, dates and times. We could not verify exactly what a free account includes, and the Premium price is set by Playtomic and may vary by country.
Waitlist. The same conditions do not describe a waiting list for court bookings. When a slot frees up after a cancellation, it goes back into the calendar, and the first person to book it gets it.
On Padel Snipe. The free plan also sends an alert when your slot becomes bookable, on Playtomic, Anybuddy and Playbypoint.
Their limit. Between receiving the alert and booking, there is the time to see the notification, open the app and pay. On a contested slot, that delay is enough to lose it. Alerts are useful for daytime cancellations and less contested slots.
3. Your club's member window
Many clubs give members a head start: a longer horizon than the public, an earlier hour, or both. On the 8 member accounts connected to Padel Snipe in October 2026, member windows ran from 7 to 21 days ahead, and in 5 of the 8 they opened 2 to 16 days before the public window.
What it changes. At a members-first club, part of the calendar is booked before the public can book at all. If you are not a member, missing those slots has nothing to do with your timing: they were never offered to the public.
Its limits. Membership costs what the club charges and only applies at that club. Among members, evening slots are still contested, and the member window often has its own clock that no public calendar shows, so check it while logged in with your member account. It is also worth asking at the front desk whether the club offers a fixed weekly court for the season, which settles the question for a regular group.
4. A booking bot: Padel Snipe
A bot books for you, with your own account, at the moment the slot opens. Padel Snipe is one; here is what it does and what it does not.
What it does. It reads the opening window of every club it follows and times its attempts on it, in the club's time zone. At release, it locks the slot, pays with the payment method saved on your account and sends you the result. If the slot is taken, it tries your fallback courts or clubs, then keeps watching for a cancellation for up to 24 hours at most clubs. On successful automatic bookings since 1 September 2026 (read on 22 October), the slot was locked a median of 0.43 seconds after detection, and the booking confirmed a median of 4.2 seconds after detection. These times start when our system sees the slot, not when the club opens it.
Its limits.
- Three platforms only: Playtomic, Anybuddy and Playbypoint. Padel Mates (used by several central London venues), MATCHi, ClubSpark, Ten'Up and club-specific systems are not supported. Our atlas counts 6,676 active clubs on Playtomic, 472 on Anybuddy and 333 on Playbypoint on 26 October 2026.
- No guarantee: if another player or bot locks the slot first, the platform gives it to them. We do not publish a success rate, because it depends on the club and the slot.
- Measured mostly on Playtomic: all 57 successful automatic bookings since 1 September 2026 were on Playtomic.
- Member windows must be entered: without yours, the bot targets the public window.
- You connect your account: you hand over your platform credentials (encrypted with AES-256-GCM), and a payment method must be saved on that account. If the platform refuses your account's login, the bot cannot book until that is fixed.
- Price: alerts are free; automatic booking starts with the Pro plan at €14 per month.

- You play off-peak (weekday lunchtime, weekend afternoons): booking by hand is usually enough. Our peak hours guide helps you pick a time.
- You can be in the app at release time: start by hand, with your club's exact time. Add an alert for cancellations if you like.
- Your club has a member window and you play there every week: membership is often the first thing to look at, before any tool.
- You want the same slot every week and cannot be there at release time, and your club is on Playtomic, Anybuddy or Playbypoint: a booking bot does it for you.
- Your club is on Padel Mates, MATCHi or its own system: no bot we offer will help; stick to booking by hand and the member window. If you are unsure which app your club uses, the padel booking app ranking lists them by country.
Bottom line
None of these options creates courts. Booking by hand costs time and availability, an alert tells you without booking, a member window gives you a head start at one club, and a bot books for you on three platforms, with no guarantee. The right choice depends on your club, your slot and whether you can be there at release time.
Check your club's platform before you choose.
